Setting up a Business Profile on Facebook

Posted on December 25, 2007. Filed under: Facebook, Social Networking | Tags: , , , , , |

I took Christmas afternoon and set up both myself and SCORE Chicago on Facebook, to learn how businesses might use it for marketing their services. I learned that businesses used to be set up a groups, and now have specially formatted pages.

I located and joined some groups of entrepreneurs (Chicago Entrepreneurs and Arts Entrepreneurship Center), but I had to set up my own profile and join as an individual. In each group I joined, I can see individuals who are members and plan to email them to make them aware of SCORE Chicago’s free business counseling and inexpensive workshops.

I joined the Chicago region and entered events, in this case workshops. I believe they will show up on the regional calendar when the day comes.

I’m just starting. Will report back how it goes.
